Montie Brewer was President & CEO of Air Canada from December 2004 till April 2009. Under Mr. Brewer's leadership, Air Canada implemented a proven business model offering choice, simplicity and value to customers and introduced one of the most modern and efficient fleets in North America.
Mr. Brewer joined Air Canada in April 2002 as Executive Vice President, Commercial. An industry veteran, Mr. Brewer has held senior positions at United Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Republic Airlines, Braniff and Trans World Airlines. He has planned and developed over 20 hub operations worldwide, managed low cost airline operations as President of United Shuttle and successfully restructured the route networks of three carriers.
While at United Airlines, Mr. Brewer acted as a key negotiator in the founding of Star Alliance, of which Air Canada was also a founding member.
Mr. Brewer is a Member of the Board of Allegiant Travel Company and is also Vice-Chair of the Canadian Tourism Commission.
His professional life has always involved scaling and operating large consumer focused communications businesses. From development of mobile telephone operations, through the roll out of Tele2 in Europe to 26 million customers, to creation and establishment of 9 MVNO operations in Europe, Michael hopped over to Chief Operations Officer role at Skype. Here, with special responsibility for all aspects of Skype's paid services, he led the organization that took the company into 100 M euro plus within three years.
All these positions involve significant International and organizational scaling. Michael saw, and led, some of the transformations of the Telecommunications industry, and as the Travel industry follows the same path, Michael brings this experience to EVERBREAD.
Michael has an Honours degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering from University College, London.
Mr. Vagn Sørensen was the Chief Executive Officer at Austrian Airlines Group from 2001 to 2006. During his tenure, Austrian Airlines Group registered revenue of more than EUR 2.5 Bln. annually and was listed at the Vienna Stock Exchange. Mr. Sørensen's leadership position at Austrian was preceded by various roles in SAS, where he served as an Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Executive Officer before leaving the company in 2001.
With more than 25 years in the airline industry, Mr. Sørensen is also currently a Board Member at Air Canada and Lufthansa Cargo. His experience spans multiple spheres and verticals as a board member. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of KMD A/S, Chairman of the Board of Scandic Hotels, Chairman of the Board of Select Service Partner Plc, Chairman of the Board of TDC A/S among other international companies, where he has been involved as an advisor, Board member, or Chairman of the Board. Most recently, Mr. Sørensen has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of F L Smidth A/S.
Mr. Sørensen holds a Master of Economics from Aarhus Business School, Denmark.
