Morten Lund is the CEO of EVERBREAD. An "archangel" investor, start-up ideologist and visionary, Morten Lund co-founded and invested in more than 50 high-tech start-ups, most famously the VoIP phenomenon Skype and online stockbroker Zecco.
At 39 years of age, he has proven his knack for turning existing business models and distribution methods on their head. His portfolio features over 80 companies spanning the Internet, telecoms, health, travel, and alternative energy.
Assen Vassilev is the President and co-founder of EVERBREAD. Assen brings five years of experience in the travel industry as a founder and CEO of an online travel portal and a travel technology company.
He started his career at Monitor Group, where he worked on strategy, marketing, and SG&A optimization projects for a number of clients, including a Fortune 15 company in the energy industry, a large mining client in South Africa, and a telecom conglomerate in Russia. In addition to business consulting, Assen has been involved in teaching economic policy and government consulting, including travel policy consulting for the European Commission.
Assen holds a BA in Economics from Harvard College, and is taking a break from the JD/MBA program at Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School in order to help develop EVERBREAD.
Dr. Ian Smith, Everbread's CTO, is world renown scientist and engineer. He has authored 11 scientific papers that have been cited more than 100 times in peer-reviewed, Computer Science literature; he holds more than ten U.S. patents. He has worked in the technology industry for more than a dozen years in senior innovation & development positions at companies such as (Xerox) PARC, Intel, and others. In addition to his scientific research, he has founded two companies to commercialize innovative new ideas into products. He currently splits his time between Everbread's Sofia office and Paris' 3rd arrondissement, where he lives with his wife Valerie and his dog Benoit.
Dr. Smith holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Blaine Stanga is a veteran in online travel distribution and has close to 25 years’ experience in the travel industry. He has extensive business development experience working with leading online travel distribution companies in the America's, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and has designed and implemented solutions for leading global travel providers including American Express, Carlson WagonLit and Expedia.
Blaine joined EVERBREAD in January 2011 as Commercial Director and is based in our development center in Sofia, Bulgaria.
